What we do

A business consultant is involved in the planning, implementation, and education of businesses. We work directly with business owners on developing a business plan, identifying marketing needs and developing the necessary skills for business ownership.

Our Consultants offer advice and expertise to organizations to help them improve their business performance in terms of operations, profitability, management, structure and strategy. The work stretches across a variety of areas, including management, strategy, IT, finance, marketing, HR and supply chain management.

Some numbers about SME

Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) play a major role in most economies, particularly in developing countries. SMEs account for most businesses worldwide and are important contributors to job creation and global economic development. They represent about 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide. Formal SMEs contribute up to 40% of national income (GDP) in emerging economies. These numbers are significantly higher when informal SMEs are included.  According to our estimates, 600 million jobs will be needed by 2030 to absorb the growing global workforce, which makes SME development a high priority for many governments around the world. In emerging markets, most formal jobs are generated by SMEs, which create 7 out of 10 jobs. However, access to finance is a key constraint to SME growth, it is the second most cited obstacle facing SMEs to grow their businesses in emerging markets and developing countries.

SMEs are less likely to be able to obtain bank loans than large firms; instead, they rely on internal funds, or cash from friends and family, to launch and initially run their enterprises. 65 million firms, or 40% of formal Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in developing countries, have an unmet financing need of $5.2 trillion every year, which is equivalent to 1.4 times the current level of the global MSME lending. East Asia And Pacific accounts for the largest share (46%) of the total global finance gap and is followed by Latin America and the Caribbean (23%) and Europe and Central Asia (15%). About half of formal SMEs don’t have access to formal credit. The financing gap is even larger when micro and informal enterprises are taken into account.

Why we do this

The founder of PT Emas Cemerlang Bersama has been an entrepreneur for more than 25 years. He incorporated this experience into his work as a partner of a private equity firm. Here he learned that his opinion about investments often deviated from the established order, partly based on the experience he had gained as owner within his companies. Something that looks good on paper doesn’t always have to be a blueprint of reality. As an entrepreneur you learn to look at reality differently, because as an owner you have ‘skin in the game’, there is more at stake.

But where do you get that experience when you are a starting entrepreneur, or are still in the early years of survival? Our experience is that there are few or no independent portals for entrepreneurs who can use them as a sounding board. We want to change that, every entrepreneur who comes to us for advice and/or support receives a completely independent and objective opinion. It is up to the entrepreneur involved to what extent he gives us access to the inside of his company.

  • We do not use prefabricated templates, each assignment is its own template that we work on.
  • From the preparation phase to a restart, expansion, or restructuring, we will assist you with every hurdle that needs to be overcome.
  • From providing advice to carrying out operational activities, you can contact us for support.
  • Where necessary, we are prepared to take a financial interest in the client’s company. As soon as we accept an assignment, we are fully committed to solving your problem.

When you may need our consultancy

Evaluate and adapt a business plan into an operational model

We provide support for a start-up company and during this phase we will mainly give advice that you should consider when you start a company. We do not come up with an idea where you can start a business. It is always your idea or plan, we evaluate the feasibility of the idea/plan and the capacity of the relevant markets. It is up to the client where and how intensively they want our involvement, from concept until execution of the plan. Continue reading →

Product Strategy

Product evaluation, testing, market positioning, innovation and product marketing and sales. We can guide you by everything in the field of your product, with the understanding that it is and remains your product. We do not come up with a product idea that you can build a company around. Because we believe in the philosophy that you can get best performance out of yourself when you come up with an idea or plan for a product. Continue reading →

Mentorship

In conversations with hundreds of entrepreneurs, the comment often comes up: “If only I had known this in advance”. Where can you obtain the knowledge that comes with entrepreneurship? There is no training available that prepares you for all common events within a company. If an entrepreneurship course is given, it is often based on the management part within a company. But if that were the case, that it can all be learned from a book, then you can have a good preparation and you will never be confronted with “surprises”. Continue reading →

Financing or refinancing of the company or project

This is one of the most important aspects that an entrepreneur often struggles with, especially if they are not financially savvy as a professional. Often there is no shortage of plans and ideas, when it comes to a new product, to improve the operational activities or to scale up a company to more turnover, an entrepreneur is often full of ideas on how to do it better. Continue reading →

Reorganization or restructuring of business activities

A reorganization is often a major change within an organization, which changes often involve consequences for operational activities and employees. An entrepreneur may have financial or organizational reasons to carry out a reorganization or restructuring. Often decisions have to be made that are not easy, because the entrepreneur is emotionally involved with the company and its staff. Continue reading
